For a university application, begin the academic planning before Grade 10 in Canada, or before the first year of senior secondary in China. The earlier the plan starts, the more time there is to do it properly.
University of Toronto — engineering, computer science, life sciences, nursing. University of British Columbia — engineering, business, medicine, law. Simon Fraser University — applied sciences, natural sciences, business, education, arts. Students applying to Canadian computer science programs usually strengthen their coding work at the same time.

Who it's for: High school students targeting U.S. universities. Math and the sciences — physics, chemistry and biology — are the marks that carry the most weight.
The edge: The local essay team looks for what is actually distinctive about each student. The AP course results that make a U.S. application competitive are taught in the same place.
Focus: Built on the published entry requirements and entrance-test requirements of the U.S. community colleges, with a detailed application plan. We also set out how the colleges compare, what the process is, and what the entry conditions are.
Who it's for: Students applying to community colleges in New York, California and other popular U.S. systems — adult applicants included.
