Create Your Personal Timeline - Then and Now Adventures

You will learn to put your life events in order from first to last, creating your own personal timeline.

Introduction

You will learn to create your own personal timeline by putting your life events in order from first to last. A personal timeline helps you see how you have grown and changed from when you were a baby to now. You will practice organizing pictures and memories to show what happened before and after in your life.

What is a Personal Timeline?

A personal timeline is like a story of your life in order. You put pictures and memories from when you were little first, then add what happened next. Your timeline shows how you grew from a tiny baby to the big kid you are today.

When you make a timeline, you think about what came before and what came after. Your baby pictures go first because you were a baby before you could walk or talk. Your newest pictures go last because they show you now.

Putting Your Life in Order

You can organize your memories by thinking about when things happened. First, you were born as a tiny baby. Then you learned to sit up, crawl, and walk. After that, you started talking and playing with toys.

Now you are in school learning new things every day. You can look at pictures to help you remember the order of events in your life. This connects to My Life Events where you explore important moments that shaped who you are.

Key Terms & Definitions

Timeline: A way to show events in order from first to last, like a line that shows your life story.

Before: Something that happened earlier in time, like when you were a baby before you started school.

After: Something that happened later in time, like learning to walk after you were born.

First: The very beginning or earliest thing that happened in your timeline.

Last: The most recent or newest thing that happened in your timeline.

Memory: Something you remember from your past, like your first day of school or a birthday party.

Order: Putting things in the right sequence from beginning to end.

Timeline Activities You Can Do

You can make your own timeline using family photos. Ask your family to help you find pictures from when you were a baby, when you learned to walk, and from special days like birthdays.

Put your pictures in order on a long piece of paper. Start with baby pictures on the left, then add pictures as you got older moving to the right. This helps you practice Sequencing Events in the correct order.
