About 1st Grade Washington math
Washington follows the Washington State K-12 Learning Standards for math, organized around operations and algebraic thinking, number and operations in base ten, measurement and data, and geometry. - Number and Operations in Base Ten: Counting to 120, understanding tens and ones in two-digit numbers, comparing two-digit numbers using >, =, and <, adding within 100, and mentally finding 10 more or 10 less.
- Measurement and Data: Ordering objects by length, expressing length in whole units, telling and writing time in hours and half-hours, and organizing data into up to three categories.
- Geometry: Identifying defining versus non-defining attributes of shapes, composing two- and three-dimensional shapes, and partitioning circles and rectangles into equal shares.
