Relationship Between Two Variables
A relationship between two variables shows how the dependent variable changes as the independent variable changes.
What You'll Learn
A relationship shows how a dependent variable (y) responds to an independent variable (x).
A table pairs each x-value with its matching y-value.
Plotting the pairs and connecting them turns a table into a graph.
If the plotted points form a straight line, the relationship is linear.
A relationship can be read both ways: from x to y, or from y back to x.
