We've got answers to some popular questions.
Do I need a subscription to practice Reading?

What does Reading actually test?
TABE Reading measures comprehension of both narrative and informational texts. StudyPug covers it in the topic groups shown on this page: Literal Comprehension, Inferential & Interpretive Reading, Vocabulary in Context, and Informational & Functional Texts.
What score do I need on Reading?
TABE is not pass or fail. Reading is reported as a Grade Equivalent (GE) score, typically on a 0–12.9+ scale, and your program sets its own required cutoff — commonly somewhere between 6.0 and 9.0 depending on the trade or field. Check directly with your program for the number that applies to you.
Is the paper TABE the same as the computer-adaptive version?
Same skill standards, different format. TABE is available as a traditional paper-and-pencil test and as TABE Online, a computer-based version some test sites administer in a computer-adaptive form. Your Reading GE score reflects the same content either way — check with your testing site to see which format they use.
