VT 4th Grade Math Curriculum
Give your child the support they need to keep up with Vermont's 4th grade math curriculum, from multi-digit multiplication to fractions and geometry concepts covered in class.
About 4th Grade Vermont math
Vermont follows the Vermont Adopted Math Standards, organized around number and operations, fractions, measurement, data, and geometry. In 4th grade, students work on multiplicative comparison, place value to multi-digit whole numbers, fraction equivalence and operations, decimal notation to hundredths, measurement conversions, angle measurement, and classifying two-dimensional figures. StudyPug provides video lessons and practice problems aligned to every strand in this course.
- Strands: operations and algebraic thinking, number and operations in base ten, fractions, measurement and data, and geometry
- Video lessons for every 4th grade math topic on the Vermont curriculum
- Practice problems and step-by-step explanations after each lesson
- Aligned to Vermont Adopted Math Standards for 4th grade

Vermont 4th Grade Math Topics
- Operations and Algebraic Thinking: Interpreting multiplication as a comparison, solving multiplicative comparison word problems, solving multistep word problems with all four operations, finding factor pairs for whole numbers up to 100, and generating number and shape patterns from a given rule.
- Number and Operations in Base Ten: Understanding place value relationships in multi-digit numbers, reading and writing multi-digit numbers in expanded form, rounding to any place, and fluently adding, subtracting, multiplying up to four digits by one digit, and dividing with up to four-digit dividends.
- Number and Operations - Fractions: Explaining fraction equivalence, comparing fractions with unlike numerators and denominators, understanding fractions as sums of unit fractions, multiplying a fraction by a whole number, and using decimal notation for fractions with denominators of 10 and 100.
- Measurement and Data: Knowing relative sizes of units within a measurement system, solving word problems involving time, distance, volume, mass, and money, applying area and perimeter formulas for rectangles, and making line plots with fractional measurements.
- Geometry: Recognizing and measuring angles with a protractor, understanding angle measure as additive, drawing points, lines, rays, and angles, classifying two-dimensional figures by their lines and angles, and identifying lines of symmetry.
