About 5th Grade Tennessee math
Tennessee follows the Tennessee Academic Standards for math, organized around number sense, operations, fractions, measurement, data, and geometry. In 5th grade, students work on place value and decimals to thousandths, adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators, multiplying and dividing fractions, volume of solid figures, and graphing on a coordinate plane. StudyPug provides video lessons and practice problems matched to each of these strands so your child gets targeted help exactly where they need it.
- Strands covered: operations and algebraic thinking, number and operations in base ten, fractions, measurement and data, and geometry

How StudyPug Helps Tennessee 5th Grade Math Students
When a student gets stuck on a concept like multiplying fractions or calculating volume, StudyPug lets them go back to exactly that topic and work through a video lesson and practice problems at their own pace. Parents can check in on progress and see which strands need more attention. Explore our grade 5 math help to see the full topic list, or try a grade 5 math practice test to find gaps before the TCAP.
Students who want to review skills from the previous year can also revisit the TN grade 4 math curriculum to fill in any missing foundations before moving forward.
