In 4th grade, students work on multiplicative comparisons, multi-digit arithmetic, fraction equivalence and addition, decimal notation, measurement conversions, area and perimeter, and classifying two-dimensional figures. StudyPug provides video lessons and practice problems matched to every strand of this course.

  • Strands covered: Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Number and Operations in Base Ten, Number and Operations - Fractions, Measurement and Data, and Geometry
  • Video lessons for every 4th grade Tennessee math topic, taught step by step
  • Practice problems and worked examples aligned to Tennessee Academic Standards

  • Number and Operations in Base Ten: Understanding place value relationships in multi-digit numbers, reading and writing multi-digit whole numbers in multiple forms, rounding to any place, fluently adding and subtracting multi-digit whole numbers, multiplying up to four-digit numbers by a one-digit number and two two-digit numbers together, and finding whole-number quotients and remainders with up to four-digit dividends.
  • Number and Operations - Fractions: Explaining fraction equivalence, comparing fractions with unlike numerators and denominators, understanding fractions as sums of unit fractions, multiplying a fraction by a whole number, expressing fractions with denominators of 10 as equivalent fractions with denominator 100, using decimal notation for those fractions, and comparing decimals to hundredths.
  • Measurement and Data: Understanding relative sizes of measurement units, solving word problems involving distance, time, volume, mass, and money using all four operations, applying area and perimeter formulas for rectangles, and making line plots with fractional measurements.
  • Geometry: Recognizing and drawing points, lines, line segments, rays, and angles; measuring and sketching angles with a protractor; understanding angle measure as additive; classifying two-dimensional figures by their properties; and identifying lines of symmetry.
