Oregon 11th Grade ELA: What Students Learn
In 11th grade, Oregon students dive deeper into reading, writing, speaking, and language skills. Aligned to Oregon's English Language Arts standards, the curriculum challenges students to analyze complex texts, construct well-supported arguments, and refine their writing across multiple genres.
Reading and Literature
11th grade ELA in Oregon asks students to closely read and analyze both literary and informational texts. Skills include identifying author's purpose, evaluating evidence, comparing multiple perspectives, and interpreting figurative language and tone. Students work with a range of genres including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and primary source documents.
Writing Skills
Writing is a major focus at this level. Oregon 11th graders develop proficiency in three core writing types:

Language and Vocabulary

SBAC Preparation for Oregon 11th Graders
