About High School Ohio math
Ohio high school math follows the Ohio Learning Standards, which organize content into strands covering algebra, functions, geometry, statistics, probability, and number systems. In Integrated Mathematics III, students work through polynomial and rational expressions, trigonometric functions and identities, conic sections, probability distributions, complex numbers, vectors, and matrices. StudyPug provides video lessons, step-by-step worked examples, and practice problems aligned to each strand so students can review at their own pace.
- Strands covered: Algebra and Functions, Trigonometry, Geometry, Statistics and Probability, Complex Numbers, Vectors, and Matrices
- Video lessons with step-by-step explanations for every topic
- Practice problems and worked examples aligned to Ohio Learning Standards
- Accessible on any device so students can study at home or on the go
Curriculum topics by strand
Find lessons and practice for every Integrated Mathematics III topic, organized by strand and aligned to the Ohio Learning Standards.
Ohio High School Math 3 Topics
- Algebra - Expressions and Equations: Interpreting and rewriting expressions, working with polynomial and rational expressions, solving systems with linear and quadratic equations, and rearranging formulas.
- Functions: Exponential and logarithmic models, inverse functions, finding intersections of functions graphically and algebraically, and interpreting parameters in context.
- Trigonometry: Radian measure, the unit circle, trigonometric functions and their inverses, periodic modeling, the Pythagorean identity, addition and subtraction formulas, and the Laws of Sines and Cosines.
- Geometry: Conic sections including parabolas, ellipses, and hyperbolas; volume formulas for cylinders, pyramids, cones, and spheres; cross-sections of three-dimensional objects; and geometric modeling with density and design problems.
- Statistics and Probability: Normal distributions, two-way frequency tables, sampling and inference, margin of error, randomized experiments, probability distributions, expected value, and decision analysis.
- Complex Numbers: The complex number system, arithmetic with complex numbers, the complex plane in rectangular and polar form, solving quadratic equations with complex solutions, and the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra.
- Vectors and Matrices: Vector quantities, components, addition and scalar multiplication, matrix operations, transformations of the plane, systems of linear equations as matrix equations, and geometric series.
How StudyPug Helps Ohio High School Math Students
When a student gets stuck on a concept like the Remainder Theorem or inverse trigonometric functions, StudyPug lets them pull up a focused video lesson and watch a worked example at their own pace. They can then attempt practice problems and check their understanding before returning to class the next day.
Because the content is organized strand by strand and aligned to the Ohio Learning Standards, students spend less time searching and more time actually practicing the skills their teacher is assessing.
Aligned to Ohio High School Math Curriculum
Every lesson and practice problem in StudyPug's Integrated Mathematics III course is built around the Ohio Learning Standards, covering the same expressions, functions, trigonometry, geometry, statistics, probability, complex numbers, vectors, and matrix topics that Ohio high school students encounter in class throughout the year.
