About 9th Grade New Jersey science

New Jersey follows the NJ Student Learning Standards for Science, which are based on NGSS and organized around disciplinary core ideas, science and engineering practices, and crosscutting concepts. In 9th grade, students work through cell division, sexual reproduction, basic genetics and inheritance, elements and chemical bonding, reactions and solutions, circuits, the universe, earth systems, biogeochemical cycles, human impact, and engineering applications. StudyPug provides step-by-step lessons and practice problems for every one of these strands.

  • Strands: cell biology, genetics, chemistry, circuits, earth and space systems, and environmental science
  • Step-by-step lessons and worked examples for every topic
  • Practice problems and guided review aligned to NJSLS-Science
  • Foundation review and challenge problems to support all skill levels

How StudyPug Helps NJ 9th Grade Science Students

When a student gets stuck on a concept like inheritance patterns or balancing chemical reactions, StudyPug lets them go back to the exact lesson they need. Each topic opens with a clear video lesson followed by practice problems with worked solutions, so students can check their thinking at every step.

The Smart Recommendations feature guides students to the topics where they need the most practice, and the Challenge Zone pushes students who are ready to go beyond the classroom material. Parents can set assignments and track progress, keeping the whole family on the same page.

Aligned to NJ 9th Grade Science Curriculum
