About High School Montana math

Montana follows the Montana Content Standards for Mathematics, organized around conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and applied problem-solving. Mathematics II builds on foundational algebra to develop skills across quantities and expressions, polynomial and quadratic functions, exponential and logarithmic relationships, trigonometric functions, coordinate and Euclidean geometry, and probability.   • Circles and coordinate geometry: inscribed angles, circle equations, parabola equations, slope criteria, arc length, sector area, and coordinate proofs.
  • Geometric measurement and modeling: volume formulas for cylinders, pyramids, cones, and spheres, cross-sections, density, and design problems.
  • Probability: conditional probability, independence, two-way frequency tables, the Addition Rule, the Multiplication Rule, and permutations and combinations.
