Preparing for Assessments

Louisiana uses the LEAP 2025 assessment system to measure student progress. While Social Studies is not assessed every year at the elementary level, the skills and knowledge built in 5th grade form the foundation students need for later LEAP Social Studies tests. Strong understanding of American history and civics in 5th grade gives students a clear advantage as they move into middle school.
