Give your child the support they need to keep up with Hawaii's 4th grade math curriculum. Lessons and practice problems cover every strand taught in class, from multiplication to fractions and geometry.
About 4th Grade Hawaii math
Hawaii follows the Hawaii Content Standards for mathematics, organized around number operations, fractions, measurement, data, and geometry. In 4th grade, students work on multiplicative comparison, multi-digit whole number operations, fraction equivalence and addition, decimal notation, measurement conversions, and classifying two-dimensional figures. StudyPug provides video lessons and practice problems aligned to every strand in this course.
- Strands: Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Number and Operations in Base Ten, Number and Operations - Fractions, Measurement and Data, and Geometry
- Video lessons explaining each concept step by step
- Practice problems and worked examples for every topic

Hawaii 4th Grade Math Topics
- Operations and Algebraic Thinking: Interpreting multiplication equations as comparisons, solving multiplicative comparison word problems, solving multistep word problems using all four operations, finding factor pairs for whole numbers, and generating number and shape patterns.
- Number and Operations in Base Ten: Understanding place value relationships in multi-digit numbers, reading and writing multi-digit whole numbers in multiple forms, rounding to any place, adding and subtracting fluently using the standard algorithm, multiplying up to four-digit numbers by one-digit numbers and two two-digit numbers, and dividing with up to four-digit dividends.
- Number and Operations - Fractions: Explaining fraction equivalence, comparing fractions with unlike numerators and denominators, understanding fractions as sums of unit fractions, multiplying a fraction by a whole number, expressing fractions with denominators of 10 as hundredths, using decimal notation, and comparing decimals to hundredths.
- Measurement and Data: Understanding relative sizes of measurement units, solving word problems involving distance, time, volume, mass, and money, applying area and perimeter formulas for rectangles, and making line plots with fractional measurements.
- Geometry: Recognizing and measuring angles, understanding angle measure as additive, drawing geometric figures including points, lines, rays, and parallel and perpendicular lines, classifying two-dimensional figures, and identifying lines of symmetry.
