Delaware 3rd Grade Math Topics
Delaware 3rd grade math covers a wide range of foundational skills. Students learn to multiply and divide within 100, work with fractions on a number line, measure area and perimeter, and analyze data using graphs. Every topic on StudyPug aligns to the Delaware Math Content Standards so your child is always studying the right material.
Multiplication and Division
In 3rd grade, Delaware students begin multiplying and dividing whole numbers. They learn to interpret products and quotients, solve word problems using multiplication and division, and understand properties of operations. Fluency within 100 is a key goal at this grade level.
Fractions
Students are introduced to fractions as parts of a whole and learn to place fractions on a number line. They compare fractions and explore equivalence. These skills prepare students for more advanced fraction work in 4th grade.
Measurement and Data
3rd graders measure time to the nearest minute, estimate liquid volumes and masses, and generate measurement data using rulers. They also draw scaled picture graphs and bar graphs to represent data sets.
Geometry and Area
Students recognize area as an attribute of plane figures, measure area by counting unit squares, and relate area to multiplication and addition. They also solve real-world problems involving perimeters of polygons and partition shapes into equal parts.
Preparing for the DeSSA
Delaware students in grades 3–8 take the DeSSA assessment. StudyPug covers every 3rd grade topic tested on the DeSSA, giving your child the practice and review they need to feel confident on test day.
