Kindergarten Math

About Kindergarten Arizona math

Arizona follows the Arizona Mathematics Standards, which organize learning around counting and cardinality, operations and algebraic thinking, number and operations in base ten, measurement and data, and geometry. In Kindergarten, students count to 100, write numerals to 20, add and subtract within 10, compare groups and numbers, explore measurable attributes, and identify and compose two- and three-dimensional shapes. StudyPug provides video lessons and practice problems aligned to every strand of the Arizona Kindergarten curriculum.

  • Counting and Cardinality: Count to 100 by ones and tens, count forward from a given number, write numerals 0-20, connect counting to cardinality, and answer 'how many?' questions about up to 20 objects.
  • Comparing Numbers and Groups: Identify whether a group is greater than, less than, or equal to another group, and compare two written numerals between 1 and 10.
  • Operations and Algebraic Thinking: Represent addition and subtraction using objects, fingers, drawings, and equations; solve word problems; decompose numbers to 10; find the number that makes 10; and fluently add and subtract within 5.
  • Number and Operations in Base Ten: Compose and decompose numbers 11-19 as ten ones and some further ones to build early place-value understanding.
  • Measurement and Data: Describe measurable attributes such as length and weight, directly compare two objects, classify objects into categories, and sort categories by count.
  • Geometry: Name and describe shapes in the environment, identify two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes, analyze and compare shapes, build shapes from components, and compose simple shapes to form larger ones.

How StudyPug Helps Arizona Kindergarten Math Students

When your child is stuck on counting on from a number or figuring out which group has more, StudyPug provides short video lessons that walk through each idea one step at a time. A parent can queue up a lesson on comparing numbers or decomposing ten in seconds, and a kindergarten math practice test helps check understanding before moving on.

StudyPug organizes every Kindergarten topic to match what Arizona classrooms teach, so your child always finds relevant kindergarten math help without searching through unrelated material.

Aligned to Arizona Kindergarten Math Curriculum

Every lesson and practice problem on StudyPug for Kindergarten is built to match the Arizona Mathematics Standards, covering all five strands - Counting and Cardinality, Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Number and Operations in Base Ten, Measurement and Data, and Geometry - so your child's practice at home reinforces exactly what they are learning in their Arizona classroom.
