New Brunswick follows the New Brunswick Curriculum for mathematics, organized around number sense, patterns and relations, shape and space, and statistics and probability.   • Number - Fractions and Decimals: Create equivalent fractions, compare fractions with like and unlike denominators, represent decimals concretely and symbolically, connect decimals to fractional equivalents, and add and subtract decimals to the thousandths place.

  • Shape and Space - Measurement: Draw conclusions about rectangles with given perimeter or area, measure and estimate lengths using millimeters and kilometers, estimate and construct rectangular prisms for given volumes, and relate milliliters to liters.
  • Shape and Space - 2-D Geometry: Identify parallel, intersecting, perpendicular, vertical, and horizontal elements, classify quadrilaterals by attributes, and translate, rotate, or reflect 2-D shapes.
  • Statistics and Probability: Distinguish between primary and secondary data sources, create and analyze double bar graphs, and use probability language to describe likelihood of events.
