7th Grade ELA in New Mexico

New Mexico 7th grade English Language Arts builds the reading and writing skills students need for high school and beyond. Aligned to New Mexico English Language Arts Standards, this grade covers literary analysis, informational reading, argumentative and informative writing, grammar conventions, and academic vocabulary development.

Reading and Literary Analysis

In 7th grade, New Mexico students read a mix of literary and informational texts. They learn to identify themes, analyze character development, compare author perspectives, and cite textual evidence to support their ideas.
