AK 7th Grade Math Curriculum
Give your child the support they need to keep up with Alaska's 7th grade math class. Lessons and practice problems cover every strand, from ratios and proportional relationships to probability.
About 7th Grade Alaska math
Alaska follows the Alaska Mathematics Standards, which organize 7th grade math into strands covering ratios and proportional relationships, operations with rational numbers, expressions and equations, geometry, statistics and sampling, and probability. Students work with unit rates, scale drawings, circle formulas, angle relationships, data distributions, and compound events. StudyPug provides video lessons and practice problems aligned to every strand so students can get unstuck and stay on track.
- Strands: ratios and proportional relationships, rational number operations, expressions and equations, geometry, statistics and sampling, and probability
- Video lessons covering every Alaska 7th grade math topic

Alaska 7th Grade Math Topics
- Ratios and Proportional Relationships: Computing unit rates with fractions, recognizing and representing proportional relationships, and solving multistep ratio and percent problems.
- Rational Number Operations: Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing rational numbers using number line models, and solving real-world problems with all four operations.
- Expressions and Equations: Applying properties of operations to linear expressions with rational coefficients, rewriting expressions, solving multi-step problems with positive and negative rational numbers, and writing and solving simple equations and inequalities.
- Geometry: Scale drawings, constructing geometric shapes, cross-sections of three-dimensional figures, area and circumference of circles, angle relationships, and area, volume, and surface area of two- and three-dimensional figures.
- Statistics and Sampling: Understanding random samples, drawing inferences about populations, comparing data distributions, and using measures of center and variability.
- Probability: Understanding probability as a number between 0 and 1, approximating probability from data, developing probability models, and finding probabilities of compound events.
How StudyPug Helps Alaska 7th Grade Math Students
When a student gets stuck on proportional relationships or runs into trouble with rational number operations, StudyPug gives them a place to go back to the concept and work through it step by step. Every lesson is available on demand, so a student can rewatch an explanation the night before a test or catch up after an absence. If you want a quick way to check where your child stands, the 7th grade math quiz is a useful starting point.
For families who want to see the full scope of what is covered, the grade 7 math help course page lists every topic available on StudyPug for this level.
Aligned to Alaska 7th Grade Math Curriculum
