How is Grade 3 Reading scored?
There's no pass or fail. Results are reported on a Level 1–4 scale, with Level 3 representing the provincial standard for Grade 3. Schools and boards use these results to understand how students and programs are performing.
Is the Grade 3 assessment the same as the OSSLT?
No — the OSSLT is a separate literacy test taken in Grade 10 as a graduation requirement, scored as successful or not-yet-successful. The Grade 3 assessment is one of EQAO's early elementary assessments, reported on a Level 1–4 scale, and it isn't a graduation requirement.
