About the CAEC Math test

The CAEC Math test is one of five subjects on the Canadian Adult Education Credential — the high-school-equivalency credential that replaced the GED in Canada in 2024. This free CAEC Math practice test covers every topic across both parts, with a step-by-step video solution for every question so a wrong answer turns into a lesson.

What topics does CAEC Math cover?

Two parts: a no-calculator section (fractions, decimals, percentages, integers, linear equations) and a calculator section spanning number sense, patterns and relations, geometry and measurement, and data and probability. StudyPug covers all of them with adaptive practice and video lessons.

Is CAEC Math hard, and where do learners struggle most?

Most adult learners have gaps in a few specific places — usually fractions and integer operations, multi-step equations, and word problems. A quick diagnostic finds those gaps, then adaptive CAEC Math practice fills them so you move from stuck to confident.

How is CAEC Math scored?

You need 55% to pass CAEC Math, and each subject is scored independently — so you only retake the subjects you don't pass. Selected-response sections are machine-scored, with results in about two business days. Our practice tracks your readiness by topic.

How StudyPug CAEC prep works

Take a diagnostic, watch focused video lessons on your weak topics, practise with instant step-by-step feedback, then sit a full-length mock exam. 92% of students improve their grades with StudyPug.

CAEC Math — FAQ

We've got answers to some popular questions.

Is this CAEC Math practice test free?

Yes. The CAEC Math sample question and diagnostic preview on this page are free to try. Full access to all video lessons and practice problems requires a StudyPug plan.

What does CAEC Math actually test?

CAEC Math covers: Part I: No Calculator (12 questions) (25%), Part II: With Calculator — Number Sense & Algebra (30%), Part II: With Calculator — Geometry & Measurement (25%), Part II: With Calculator — Data & Probability (20%).

What score do I need to pass?

You need at least 55% to pass CAEC Math. The test has 42 questions (2 parts), 120 minutes.

Is the CAEC the same as the GED?

The CAEC (Canadian Adult Education Credential) replaced the GED in Canada and covers similar subject areas, but it is a distinct test with its own format, question types, and scoring. StudyPug's CAEC prep is built specifically around the CAEC blueprint.
