"Estimate and Calculate." The estimating part is actually pretty, you don't have to think too much. Basically that's negative, this is negative, right? So when they're both negative and you're trying to add them together, you know what? Just treat them as positive and at the very end, just put a negative sign right beside the answer. So we&apos;ve got a 2.4 and 6.5. You can say the answer is around 8.9ish something, but let's actually go ahead and calculate this without using a calculator. Let's have 2.43 to start off and let's just have the 6.53 right here. Let's put a plus sign in front of that because we are adding. You might be saying that it's negative, here and here. What's that supposed to mean? A negative 2.43 plus a negative 6.53. Think of the negative as 
"you owe me money." If you owe me two dollars and 43 cents, then you owe me another six dollars and 53 cents, how much do you own me at the very end? You just add up the money together, right? So let's go ahead and add the money together right here. It's three and three so we get a six here, four and five get a nine right there, and you get a six and two is eight. At the very end, you just put a negative sign, okay? 
So, when you have a negative, negative, when you're adding integers together or numbers together, if you get a negative minus a negative, just add them together and put a negative sign in front of that. Another way to think about it: you owe me two dollars and 42 cents and then you owe me another six dollars and 53 cents. It's like a subtraction in a way, like you've lost that money, so you put them together and this is your final answer for this project. Thanks for watching.
