Discover the Three Parts of Every Story You Read

You will learn that every story has three parts: beginning, middle, and end. You will practice putting story events in the right order.

Introduction

You will discover that every story has three special parts that make it complete. Stories have a beginning, a middle, and an end. Learning about these parts helps you understand stories better and tell your own stories too!

What Are the Three Parts of a Story?

Every story you read or hear has three main parts. The beginning starts the story. The middle shows what happens next. The end finishes the story.

Think about your favorite story. It starts somewhere, things happen in the middle, and then it ends. This pattern helps stories make sense to you.

The Beginning of Stories

The beginning is where stories start. You meet the characters first. You learn where the story happens.

In the beginning, you might meet a girl named Mila. You learn she wants to plant a flower. This is how the story starts!

The Middle of Stories

The middle is where most action happens. Characters face problems here. They try to solve things.

In Mila's story, the middle shows her watering the flower every day. She takes care of it. This is the main part of the story.

The End of Stories

The end is where problems get solved. You find out how everything turns out. Characters often feel happy at the end.

Mila's flower grows big and tall at the end. Her problem is solved. The story is complete now.

Key Terms & Definitions

Beginning: The first part of a story where you meet characters and learn what the story is about.

Middle: The part of a story that comes after the beginning where most of the action and problems happen.

End: The last part of a story where problems get solved and you find out how everything turns out.

Story: A tale about characters and what happens to them, told in order from start to finish.

Characters: The people or animals in a story that do things and have adventures.

Problem: Something that needs to be fixed or solved in a story.

Order: The way things happen in a story, from first to last.
