About High School Kansas Algebra II

- Functions and Modeling: Understand function notation, domain and range, key features of graphs, average rate of change, transformations, and modeling with linear and exponential functions.
- Sequences and Series: Write arithmetic and geometric sequences recursively and explicitly, and derive the formula for the sum of a finite geometric series.
- Polynomial and Rational Expressions: Add, subtract, and multiply polynomials; apply the Remainder Theorem; identify zeros; prove polynomial identities; and work with rational expressions and equations.
- Exponential and Logarithmic Functions: Use logarithms to solve exponential equations, understand the inverse relationship between exponents and logarithms, and find inverse functions.
- Trigonometry: Apply radian measure, the unit circle, special triangles, trigonometric identities, the Pythagorean identity, addition and subtraction formulas, Laws of Sines and Cosines, and inverse trigonometric functions.

- Matrices: Represent systems of equations with matrices, find inverses, and perform matrix operations including scalar multiplication and matrix multiplication.
- Conic Sections: Derive equations of parabolas, ellipses, and hyperbolas from their geometric definitions.
- Probability and Statistics: Fit data to a normal distribution, interpret two-way frequency tables, and use permutations and combinations to compute compound probabilities.
