Hawaii Kindergarten English Curriculum

Hawaii Kindergarten English follows the Hawaii Common Core Standards for English Language Arts. Students in Kindergarten develop the foundational literacy skills they will use throughout their school years. StudyPug covers every skill in this curriculum with clear lessons and guided practice.

Key Skills Covered in Kindergarten English

  • Letter recognition and the alphabet
  • Phonics and phonemic awareness
  • Sight words and early reading fluency
  • Reading comprehension with simple texts
  • Basic writing and sentence structure
  • Listening and speaking skills

How StudyPug Supports Hawaii Kindergarteners

StudyPug breaks every Kindergarten English skill into small, manageable lessons. Each lesson is followed by practice exercises so students can reinforce what they have just learned. Parents can track progress and identify topics that need more attention.

Whether your child is just starting to read or needs extra practice with phonics, StudyPug has lessons aligned to what Hawaii schools teach. Students can learn at their own pace and revisit any topic as many times as they need.

Preparing for Later Grades

The skills built in Kindergarten English form the foundation for reading and writing in Grade 1 and beyond. Hawaii students begin statewide SBAC testing in Grade 3. A strong Kindergarten foundation helps students build confidence early and stay on track as the work gets harder.
