Meet Parikh – Education Revolutionizing
Virtual or online learning is revolutionizing American education. It has the potential to dramatically expand the educational opportunities of American students, largely overcoming the geographic and demographic restrictions. Virtual learning also has the potential to improve the quality of instruction, while increasing productivity and lowering costs, ultimately reducing the burden on taxpayers.
The online learning revolution is already underway in the United States. The online learning is affecting almost every child in the America in a bad way and a good way. It’s affecting them in a bad way because children are getting more use to sitting behind their computers rather than going to school and making friends. Also, online learning doesn’t make students strong enough to face the real world. Students who have done online learning and going to college are having a hard time having other students around them. But online learning is also good for the parents who don’t have lot of money to place their child in quality learning environment. Online learning would change the way students learn by having clear instructions. In 2009, the U.S. department of education reported that “students who took all or part of their class online performed better, on average, than those taking the same course through traditional face-to-face instruction.” In addition, online learning has the potential to improve productivity and lower the cost of education, reducing the burden on taxpayers.
Online learning will change how students learn in three different ways: from individual to collaborative learning, the rise of differentiated instruction, and the phenomenon of multitasking. Collaborative learning is a situation in which two or more people learn or attempt to learn something together. Collaboration is no longer considered a nice add-on; it has become a necessary feature. Today's much improved collaboration process and tools, more importantly, are filling the lack of human touch, which has long been a criticism of online learning. Each of the students has his or her own set of concerns, agendas, abilities, values and priorities. This is why it’s extremely crucial to apply different types of instruction to different learners. No single method can accommodate all their learning needs. A flexible and personalized approach to content delivery is a must. Multi-tasking with technologies is perceived to be easy, especially among younger adults who are likely to be engaged in educational studies. It can happen only when the two tasks are both very simple and when they don’t compete with each other for the same mental resources.
The students benefit the most from online learning. Students can attend online classes anytime, anywhere they have Web access. They can access course material 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and they can learn from their instructor across the country or around the world. Also, students can earn higher grades because they can learn at their own pace. The most benefits someone can get from online learning are students.
Day by day more students are realizing about how online learning is good. Online learning will help students who are not getting good grades in class. It will also help students who like to work on their own pace. Online learning will be the next big thing that will happen in the future.
